Mason and Chase - Three Oaks Photo Shoot
In the thick of this pandemic, I have to admit that photography has been placed on the back burner far too often - and not by choice! While we are all getting used to a sort of “new normal,” things are starting to re-open, and we’re wondering what’s next, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. So, when I had the opportunity for a shoot with brothers Mason and Chase, I jumped at the chance to get outside and create something memorable with then and for them!
This particular shoot was even sweeter because the boys’ mom hadn’t gotten professional pictures of the brothers since they were toddlers. They were definitely due for an update, and the charming town of Three Oaks provided the perfect backdrop for the shoot.
Three Oaks is a little bit of everything all wrapped into one small community. Some people love it because it’s so close to the beach. Others appreciate the small shops and places to eat. Many people still recognize it as a farm community. For this shoot, we focused on that beautiful, natural simplicity - the rustic ‘farm’ aspect that provided a gorgeous backdrop for the boys. Being outdoors in wide-open fields and working with a distressed, classic barn felt incredibly natural and allowed the boys to be comfortable and not confined. Not only did it show off a bit of Three Oaks history, but it made for a great opportunity for these two to be themselves - and be brothers!
Not only did we want to make sure the scenery was as natural and free as possible, but it was important to capture these two spirited boys’ personalities! Everyone knows how brothers are, and it was so sweet to watch these two interact and show their love for one another.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, I want to make sure all of my clients feel safe and comfortable during shoots. That’s why I choose to wear a mask for anything within six feet of the client(s). Thankfully, nothing was going to stop these boys from showing off their brotherly love, and I’m so glad their wonderful mother has new pictures of her sons to enjoy for years to come!
After a few sneak peeks were sent, and then the full gallery was made available, I received this email from their mom and it warms my heart knowing they love the images as much as I loved taking them!
“Thank you so much for taking amazing pictures of my 2 boys. I cannot say enough how fabulous they are. You captured the essence of each of my children and I can see their own unique personalities come through in the photos. I appreciate your flexibility in coming to different spots in Three Oaks to capture the feelings I wanted to convey in these photos. My husband and I will cherish these photos. Thanks again.”
